Island

in the crossing, an island becomes more clear

Accademia Filarmonica Romana, 2018 (premiere)

This work is based on the the homonymous poem Island by Jung Hyun-jong. Movement, music and words gravitate toward each other “crossing” and “crossing over”. As music “crosses” models of Korean and Western music, the dance crosses virtual images on video. Morphing with a reciprocal acoustic and electro acoustic crossing, between background and close up until the “islands” are connected.
